The Best Google Analytics Apps For iOS

best-google-analytics-apps-ios
Whilst Google does have an official Google Analytics app for iPhones, it hasn't always been the best so there are many other high quality options on the market. I recently went in search for the best Google Analytics app for iOS (iPhone and iPad) and downloaded pretty much every dedicated Google Anlaytics app on the Apple App Store to play with.

You can find out the results and top recommendations below…

Abondo ECommerce Analytics AppAbondo – Ecommerce Analytics

Business App for iOS

Developed by Frank Hoffmann

Rated 3.5/5 by
Best Used on iPhone | (Free)

If your primary reason for getting checking Google Analytics on iOS is to check on your E-Commerce statistics at a glance then Abondo is the app for you. All of the primary stats such as number of transactions, revenue, average order value, visits and conversions are available up front, and you are still able to easily drill down to see conversion rates by channel, campaign and more. This app is also simple enough that you could pick it up with very little Google Analytics experience and still find your way around to understand the metrics.

Analytics for iPadAnalytics for iPad – Google Analytics

Business App for iOS

Developed by Mario Micklisch

Rated 3/5 by
Best Used on iPad | (Freemium | Lite/Pro)

Originally designed for iPad, there is also an iPhone/iPad optimised version however the app suffers on a small screen. It has a similar feel to the reports on the official site but interface is lacking and can be hard to navigate when profiles use default names.

Limited reporting available on the free version and the simple UI and reporting in the premium version is not enough to rival other apps at the same price point.

Analytics Pro 2 AppAnalytics Pro 2

Business App for iOS

Rated 3.5/5 by
Best Used on iPhone/iPad | (Premium)

This is a really well designed app with tons of useful custom reports however it's non standard labeling could cause confusion for web app users and the date ranger editor is limited to preset options. This feels like it was designed for both novice analytics users and power users however it ends up feeling like it hits neither market perfectly. Overall could still be a good option for general business users.

Hard to navigate between properties using default naming conventions and limited statistics available. Probably one to avoid when there are other quality free apps.

Analytiks Google Analytics AppAnalytiks – Google Analytics

Business App for iOS

Developed by Blatt Labs

Rated 4/5 by
Best Used on iPhone | (Free)

This is a simple yet beautiful apps that provides your key traffic statistics at a glance but it's best feature is the infographic mode where you can see demographics, device detail, site averages, top referrers and keywords. You can easily export and share the infographic as an image file which is great if you want to share a visual story of your data, however this probably won't be your primary analytics app.

Dashboard Pro for Google Analytics AppDashboard (Pro) Google Analytics

Business App for iOS

Developed by Velyoo

Rated 4/5 by
Best Used on iPhone/iPad | (Freemium | Lite/Classic Pro/Pro)

The jury is still out on this one… Whilst it is not immediately intuitive, it comes with built in documentation and allows you to set weightings on your goals, transactions and other metrics to keep track of your site trends and performance over time. You get the feeling that this could be an amazing app for keeping on top of business objectives through your digital actions however the app might not be enough to justify changes in it's own right and as a general analytics tool it simply doesn't provide full access. One for the business owners/managers? Get the free version if you don't need ecommerce data and the Pro version if you do, not really sure why the classic version is still up to confuse things.

Fast Analytics for Google Analytics AppFast Analytics for Google Analytics™

Business App for iOS

Another one that is hard to navigate with accounts that follow default analytics naming conventions. Visually simple and appealing but not much depth to data that is included and doesn't offer goals or ecommerce sections.

Until fairly recently this would have scored much lower but this app is quickly making improvements and is of course the official iOS app for Google Analytics. It now supports both iPhone and iPad whilst offering the most commonly used features and reports within a few taps. In parts the labeling differs from the web application and the merged goal conversions and ecommerce section can leave you with irrelevant or unused datapoints alongside each other. The modern design is simple and effective and as this is the official app you would expect it to stay updated alongside the core product even if takes a little more time than it should to get things right on to the Apple version of the app ;)

Measure for Google Analytics AppMeasure for Google Analytics

Business App for iOS

Developed by Sixbase

Rated 3/5 by
Best Used on iPhone | (Freemium | In-App Purchase)

This is a simple to use app designed around cards showing which way your data is trending. You can also tap into each card for slightly more detail, however the app has a relatively high yearly charge for linking more than one account and doesn't offer anywhere near as much as apps with similar or lower price-points.

Quicklytics Google Analytics AppQuicklytics for Google Analytics

Business App for iOS

Developed by Eduardo Scoz

Rated 4.5/5 by
Best Used on iPhone/iPad | (Paid | In-App Purchase)

Quicklytics is definitely the beast of the pack when it comes to Google Analytics apps for iOS and it offers pretty much everything you could want and then some. Somehow they have managed to do this whilst creating a mostly simple yet powerful UI that allows you to navigate your full data set and even create saved custom reports that you can send via email. The app looks great on iPhone and really comes into its own on the larger iPad screen. Unlike some of the other apps reviewed the ECommerce section contains all of the data points you will need to work with Enhanced ECommerce tracking. It also has a dedicated section for Real-Time statistics that is just a tap away from any screen. This app provides all of the core statistics up front whilst allowing you to easily drill-down further making this a great app for both general users and full analytics nerds.

If you are running an event, or find yourself in a situation where real time analytics are key then Measure for Google Analytics is the app for you. However it is important to note that this app has a single focus on live stats so you shouldn't expect to be checking your general analytics as well. The free version of the app is a little limited in that it only shares geographic information and numbers of active users on your site, but the paid upgrade isn't expensive and provides you with page level detail, device and platform information and even traffic sources at a glance. This app could also be useful for verifying that your new campaigns have gone live and are being tracked appropriately.

Best Used on iPhone/iPad | (Freemium | In-App Purchase to Remove Ads)

Simple clean list interface with large interactive graphs for most statistics and an easily digestable “Today's Dashboard”. This is one of the few free apps that also includes (limited) ecommerce data. You can also access all reports without upgrading and easily export and share the reports. Great reference app if you don't want to dig to deeply and powerful without having to pay.

So what is the Best Google Analytics App for iOS?

Whilst I'd love to say there is one app that is great for all situations, the reality is that some of the apps are great at some things whilst lacking at other. Abondo is great for checking up on ECommerce stats, Realtime is great for finding out who is on your site right now, and the official Google Analytics app is probably your best free option.

However if I had to pick the best all-round iOS app for Google Analytics, it would have to be Quicklytics. You can run deep-dives into the data almost as easily as using it for a quick checkup on your daily stats. It may be paid, but it's definitely not the most expensive on the market and with regular updates it is more than worth the money.

  1. I know this is an older list, but I’m curious if you’d consider taking a look at gatodayapp.com? I just released it and it’s got brand-new widgets for iOS 14, Siri Shortcuts, and a great dashboard. It’s not trying to replace more fully-featured Analytics Apps, but it does make it easy to keep an eye on your most important metrics and dimensions for your key profiles.
