Use Your Keywords

You should include your keyword in any Google AdWords ads. The keyword is there to grab the attention of a prospect – and if a person doesn’t see what he’s looking for in your ad, he might just skip it and look at others. Of course, you ad must also be appealing, compelling and make total sense. I know that fitting in all the information is such a short space can be quite difficult, but it can be done with some time and practice. Make the most out of your ads by placing your keywords in them, or else your time and effort are wasted.

Tips on Bidding Strategy: High To Low

Here’s a useful strategy for bidding, but first let me explain how Google ranks your ads. Google ranks your ad by two things, your bid price and your Click-Through-Rate (CTR). CTR is the total clicks your ad receives over a period of time. Being new to AdWords, your quality score is definitely low, so to be on the first page is more difficult . Thus, in order for you ads to show, you need to bid a litter higher than usual. By bidding higher, you get more exposure and higher CTR. Once you get an established amount of CTR, then you can lower your bid price. You have to work within your budget and try to keep your ads within the first page without busting it.

Low to High Bidding Strategy

Another common bidding strategy is the reverse of the above strategy. This is very useful for keywords that aren’t so competitive or popular. If your budget is limited, you can also use this method. You begin with lower bidding price and slowly work your way up until your ads appear on the first page. Still, it is important to work within your budget, keep your ads on the first page while bidding as low as possible.

Try Negative Keywords

Negative keywords help prevent your ads from appearing in search results that are unrelated, else your ads can appear to audiences who are not your target. You have a specific audience to target and you want to make sure that your ad gets to them and no others. If you don’t use the negative keywords function, your ad could appear on the wrong place and wrong people. Let say you are promoting dog collar and a keyword you used is “collar”. Your ad will appear each time a person types in “collar”, but there are many topics surrounding the word “collar” and the person may not be necessarily looking for dog collar. He may own a cat and looking for a cat collar. So, you use “cat” as an negative keyword to prevent your ad from appearing. You must use the negative keywords to target your ads. This helps you target the necessary audience only, and helps increase your CTR more.

Test Your Ads

Testing ads is very important,Google AdWords can be a pain in the neck to use at times, but one good thing about it is that testing in Google AdWords can be automatic. You simply place two different ads in each Ad group. Google displays both of these for you and record your CTR. After a specific time frame, you will get results on which ad gets a higher CTR. With the result, you can choose which ad to remove and which ad to use. As you continue to test different ads, eventually, you will find the best performing ad.

Everyday, Google display millions of ads online and if you plan to use Google AdWords, you need to do more to succeed. To make your ads stand out and generate profit, a little information and understanding about how Google AdWords is crucial. Follow these tips and continue to improve your knowledge Google AdWords.

Go Try This: Dynamic URL Redirection for The Modern Marketer

When sharing content online you won’t always want to be using the full url of a website. That’s why if you have any social media profiles at all it’s likely you’ve come across a link that looks something like this: http://tinyurl.com/ydjq6q5 These links are usually set up through a third party site where you simply paste in the full link and they will shorten it to something like the previous example. As a side-note some of these websites will also let you choose a custom vanity url so people can have an idea of your content in advance (example: http://bit.ly/stomper999) and some services such as bit.ly will even let you track the number of clicks.

Why bit.ly is better than tinyurl.com

There are other hidden benefits that many people get out of using url shorteners as well as a simple short link. Affiliate marketers advertising other peoples products for cash will often need to use links which hold their name on the end and will not want to share this link directly with the world for a few reasons. Affiliate links are often; ugly, confusing, left unclicked or even worse all three.

URL shortening services took off in such a big way because everone can find a use for them, from the casual Internet user sharing funny images with a friend all the way through to the Internet Professional who makes their living online. At a guess I’d say you fall into the latter category or at least somewhere inbetween seeing as how you’ve made it to this site and that is why you must be aware of the potential pifalls.

“When Good Links Go Bad!”

You’ve been promoting something for a while now and have shared your links in literally hundreds of places online. Suddenly without warning the company that you’ve been promoting goes bust and you are left with hundres of links leading to a dead site. Perhaps  it’s something as simple as the company that you’ve been linking to starts to slack a little and you decide that it’s time to promote somebody else that is consistently providing a better product or service. In either of these situations with a traditional url shortener you are left in a position where you will need to not only find a replacement service to offer but also work on building new links to the replacement offer.

Another thing that happens more often than you’d think is that somebody has a bad experience when clicking on a shortened link and then no longer trusts anything that comes from that domain. Whilst most companies offering short urls do their best to keep the bad guys out this could happen on any of the public url redirect sites and you find yourself losing out on valuable page views.
